More About Alberto
Alberto specialises in civil and commercial litigation, arbitration and mediation, both within Italy and internationally. He also specialises in intellectual property (including contractual aspects and litigation), commercial contracts, insolvency and restructuring, corporate matters (inclusive of Mergers and Acquisitions and Joint Ventures) and sports law.
He has frequently served as an arbitrator, including as a sole arbitrator and as counsel in both national and international arbitrations. Alberto has also acted as a court expert in Italian law and civil procedure, including proceedings before the High Court in London. He was a member of a faculty created by WIPO for teaching intellectual property licensing in a course for Turkish practitioners and civil servants held in Istanbul.
Alberto is a member of the Milan Bar, of the International Bar Association (IBA), the Union Internationale des Avocats (UIA), the International Trademark Association (INTA), where he has been appointed as a delegate, the European Communities Trade Mark Association (ECTA), the International Insolvency Institute (III), the Association Suisse de l’Arbitrage (ASA), the Chinese European Arbitration Centre (CEAC) Advisory Board and the Swiss Chinese Law Association (SCLA).
Recent work

Successfully obtained the first and only recognition and enforcement of a foreign (EU) judgment in Italy, in accordance with the convention (1215/2012) despite strong opposition from the Italian counterparty. They incorrectly argued that the EU judgment violated Italian public policy, which is the only valid reason to deny recognition and enforcement. The case lasted several years and reached the Italian Supreme Court of Cassation, which ultimately granted recognition and enforcement, fully rejecting the Italian opposition. This landmark decision marks a significant achievement.
